Srinagar, Oct 25 (KNO): Expressing pride in Jammu and Kashmir’s sporting potential, Minister for Youth Services and Sports Satish Sharma on Saturday extended a warm welcome to the organizers and players of the Indian Heaven Premier League (IHPL) during its opening match at Bakshi Stadium, Srinagar. “I congratulate and welcome you all. The organizers and players of the Indian Hevan Premier League have come to the land of Jammu and Kashmir carrying a message of love and friendship,” the Minister Sharma said while speaking on the sideline of league, as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO). He added, “I assure you, we have immense talent here. Our people love cricket, and I thank and welcome you all for bringing this tournament to our Union Territory.” He said, we have many IPL, local and international players and events like this provide great exposure to our youth. The Minister further said such tournaments inspire the next generation of cricketers. “I believe more leagues, tournaments and events should be organized across Jammu and Kashmir. I welcome you all once again—enjoy your time here, make friends and take back beautiful memories from this land of warmth and hospitality,” he said adding, on behalf of our leader Omar Abdullah Sahib, I extend my greetings to everyone. It is important to mention, the Indian Heaven Premier League, organized at Srinagar’s Bakshi Stadium, aims to promote cricketing talent across the Union Territory and foster sportsmanship and unity through the participation of players from different parts of India, and locals as well—(KNO)
